Jos van Lieshout & Pascale De Schepper From Belgium Brussels A superbly maintained hotel, very clean, with a large superior room overlooking the sea measuring around 30 m², beautifully furnished with wood and marble. The view was simply magical. Waking up in the morning to the sunrise, a magnificent garden, olive trees stretching as far as the eye can see... what more could you ask for? A small coffee or espresso? No problem, the machines are there. Need information? The owners and their teams will do everything they can to help you. The food? Very good, but anyone who has spent more than ten days in the same place will tell you it's always a bit the same, but as a hotel in Greece, you have a huge range of local specialities, organic vegetables, olives, oils, tomatoes, feta cheese, moussaka, souvlaki, pastitsio, stuffed peppers, etc., etc. Breakfast? Croissants, chocolate couques, brioches, white bread, brown bread, multi-grain bread, pistolets, cake, etc. The restaurant makes you want to stay after you've finished your dinner because it's so pleasant, with its terrace and super-friendly, helpful staff. The hotel is slightly elevated, so there is always a pleasant breeze. The village of Malia and its shops are not far away. There is a delightful little Greek restaurant 500 metres away. The shops are 500 metres away. We will be returning next year if all goes well. A big thank you to the whole team, the dining room, kitchen and cleaning staff, and the bosses, Georges and Konstantina, as well as Madame's mother for her warm welcome. Nothing is too much trouble for the bosses and staff, who speak different languages and are always smiling. Georges solved any minor issues in less than two minutes. Also, when we left, the bus couldn't get to the hotel due to roadworks, so Georges drove us to the bus in a golf cart. People who give negative feedback should stay in their own country, because this hotel deserves a perfect 10 and much more than 4 stars

My wife and I went to Malia, Crete, in the first week of June (2025). The week started with about 23 degrees, but two days later summer had really arrived (30 degrees). We choose (the hotel part of) Hotel Matheos Village and Suites for our stay and didn't regret it. We had a great time. Here some reasons why. (+) - we had a room with a seaside view on the third floor. Waking up with this view was very relaxing - dinner is good with lots of variety, but breakfast is even better - there's a beautiful pool - our room was spacious. It also had a safe (free to use), an airco, balcony and a fridge. - the tv had Netflix, Prime Video and maybe more. So if you have an account you can just log in - the tv had BVN as a first channel (for Dutch people) - you can stream content from your smartphone to your tv - the beds have good matrasses - the shower has a strong stream - you can flush your toiletpaper through the toilet (!) - the staff is great (-) - the hotel is rather far from the main road or the centre of Malia. It's best if you have your own transportation. - we were there before the summer holidays started, so it was pretty quiet at the pool or in the parking lot. But that changes of course in the tourist season. The hotel is well located. It's easy to visit Heraklion, Sissi or Agios Nikolaos by car or find some nice beaches (Potamos beach!). A great experience!
