This was our third stay at Maxim Hotel in Oradea, and every time just gets better! We were here for the wedding of our godchildren, and once again, we were beyond impressed. This is, without a doubt, the best hotel I’ve stayed at in Oradea. A huge thank you to Alex and Yna from management—so professional, friendly, and incredibly accommodating. They made sure everything went smoothly during our stay. The hotel is spotlessly clean, with great amenities like a pool, gym, and a beautiful, cozy outdoor area where you can truly unwind. The atmosphere is peaceful and welcoming. And by the way, i am a foreign national and in this hotel it was never a problem if you do not speak Romanian language. If not all, most of them speaks English which I love the most! It’s also in a perfect location, right in the heart of the city center, close to shopping malls, a lovely park and plaza, and high-end restaurants. Everything you need is just steps away. Highly recommended for both special occasions and relaxing getaways. We’ll definitely keep coming back!
I only visited Hotel Maxim in Oradea for a meal at their restaurant, as part of a birthday outing. Unfortunately, the experience left a bit to be desired. Right from the start, the server informed us that several items—such as the strawberry and pineapple lemonades—were unavailable, along with a few other drinks. When I inquired about the type of cheese used in one of the pasta dishes, the server wasn’t able to provide an answer. But the most frustrating part was the confusion around the banana split. The server insisted it didn’t come with ice cream, despite the menu clearly stating otherwise. When the dish did arrive with ice cream, she claimed the menu “must’ve changed today,” which didn’t inspire much confidence. There was also a discrepancy between the menu description and the food itself: the seafood pasta was listed as a carbonara, but it was served with tomatoes—not what you’d expect from a traditional carbonara. Overall, the atmosphere was nice and the food itself was decent, but the service and inconsistencies in the menu detracted from the experience. 3 out of 5.
Unfortunately there were a few problems during my stay. First of all, the parking lots are very tight and insufficient. It’s very hard to enter/exit from the parking lot. Secondly, during our stay (end of June) Hotel Maxim had a problem with the AC and they chose to inform us only when we got there. It’s unimaginable for a 4-star hotel in the center of a relatively big city to not have a working AC system during summer and no other option. Lastly I was disappointed about the breakfast when I saw that the food was not held properly.(food with mayonnaise was left in the sun in a room without AC.)
