Superb location, polite and courteous staff, the room is cleaned thoroughly every day, the cleaning lady who cleaned the room did a wonderful job, the lady with glasses in the reception was very helpful. I will definitely come back again.
The hotel was nice and location was great . Very friendly staff The only bad thing about our experience was the hotel restaurant. Very limited menu with substandard quality and exaggerated prices compared to the local restaurants of same calibre
I booked the hotel for 8 night in total. I liked the fact that it is close to the beach as well as to the city center. The area is clean and safe and there's a bunch of restaurants near by so the location is perfect. What has affected my stay negatively are a couple of things: - For the first 3 nights, there was a very noisy family next door and the walls are far from being sound proof, you can literally hear everything in the surrounding rooms. - I work on my laptop at night so I usually do not wake up early, so if you are someone like me who likes to sleep in, get ready for some really noisy cleaning staff. At one point, it felt like they were making noise on purpose, slamming doors and yelling in the hallways when talking to each other. - The hand soap bottle has been empty and has not been refilled until (tonight) which is my last night here in this hotel. - Every time I asked for a clean towel or toilet paper, I was met with rudeness and I felt like I was asking for the impossible, (when I paid almost 2000 dollars). - The worst of the worst is when I needed forks from the hotel's dining restaurant, I was given forks and when I went up to my room I realized that they were not clean, So I went back and kindly asked the restaurant employee for clean forks and another lady who works there told him in Spanish: "Don't give him from the clean drawer", thinking that I don't speak Spanish so I told her that it's not right what she just said and instead of apologizing she started insulting me. - One thing I didn't know until I came to this hotel and I'm still trying to wrap my head around it is that the hotel rents wedding venues so there was a wedding celebration happening every couple of nights and the music is so loud that you should just go join the party since you won't be sleeping until 5 AM. What I am wondering is, do they consider that there are people who need to sleep? people that are here for business and they need their sleep? People who are ill.....etc. - I've asked the cafeteria staff to use the microwave one day and the guy ended up accepting but again, no smile and a rude response every time. - At the end, the main thing I took from staying in Melilla Puerto Hotel is that the only time where you will be met with a smile is when your credit card is being charged, from that point, expect being treated like a beggar.
