Hotel Menoir Dorsett

Hotel staff were friendly. The foyer was nice and decorative, looking clean and tidy. The staff spoke multiple languages including English. There is on road parking in front of the hotel. The room was cleaned every day and the bed was made. The finish in the room was poor. The shower controls were not straight and finished really bad, with grout and silicone missing in places. This made it look less professional and slightly cheap. I am happy that the room was cleaned every day, however they replaced the bad of soap every day which I found quite wasteful. I didn't get the impression that this hotel was 4*. There was no iron in the room however the hotel staff got one for us but with no ironing board. There was a window in the room that looked directly onto a wall, people had clearly been smoking out of this window and as a result the room had an off smell of smoke. The heater in the room was difficult to control, there we no instructions and I never really felt it blow warm air, so the room was slightly chilly in the evening. The lighting in the room was pretty dim and difficult for my wife to apply makeup.

Was very happy when we checked in. Staff friendly and helpful but need to familiarise themselves about taxis and the surrounding area. Very clean. Had a great first two days. The only downfall is the hotel is a building site and nowhere does it state that it's under construction otherwise we would most definitely not booked here. The curtains remain shut as all you see is scaffolding. The noise we woke up too early Monday morning has ruined this experience for me. This would put me off booking here again tbh.

The room was in a terrible state. The floor was like it had never been dragged down. There was a lot of hair under the sheets. The whole room smelled of smoke. There were so many terrible things I couldn't explain. Don't come unless you can't find any hotel.
