stunning! Should've taken more photos of our room. We were on the fifth floor. Had a wonderful view. Everything was very clean, customer service was superb. My parents had a room on the second floor that has stairs up to the bed that was a bit odd, they were able to switch the following night but just be mindful when booking if you want a one story room to keep in mind when requesting your room. Hotel has wonderful design, vegan restaurant downstairs is charming. The lemon sours check in are yum!

We spent four nights at the hotel at the end of April. We stayed in the newer wing overlooking the courtyard which we liked a lot. After reading other reviews about these newer rooms being compared to a motel rooms, we were pleasantly surprised that for us there was no motel feeling at all. The room's glass door and windows faced the pretty green courtyard, there were lots of bird singing in the morning! We also enjoyed the absolutely gourmet breakfast with a variety of granola, yogurts, pastries and fruits. The kitchen cooked eggs and crepes to order. I recommend the hotel to anybody heading to Amsterdam. The location is perfect too. Close to everything we wanted to visit as well as the city centre and the train station.

We recently stayed at Hotel Mercier in Amsterdam and had a mixed experience. The location is fantastic, and we were warmly welcomed at check-in, which set a great tone. Unfortunately, things went downhill when we encountered an issue with our room. We had booked an internal room (no exterior windows) through a third-party travel portal, and found that the air conditioning didn’t work. Even with a fan provided by staff, the room remained over 25°C. The hallways were noticeably cooler, making the room feel even more uncomfortable, especially for sleep. We saw that another room was available to book online and asked to be moved, but were told by the front desk that they couldn’t help because we booked through a third party. We spent hours ping-ponging between the hotel and the booking company, trying to sort it out. Eventually, while at dinner, the booking company confirmed a room change, only for us to return and be told that the new room had been booked by someone else online in the meantime. It was our last night, and we had an early international flight, so it was a frustrating end to an otherwise lovely trip. Most reviews mention how beautiful the rooms are, but it’s worth noting those are the external rooms, so be mindful of the distinction when booking and consider calling ahead to confirm room type. Internal rooms are small, motel-like set up - and in our experience very stuffy. We usually seek out and support local, boutique hotels, but sadly in this case, it felt like we were penalized for not booking direct. Hopefully service is more consistent for those who do.
