Hotel Merkur

The Merkur is the perfect place to stay whether visiting or for work. My stay with them was for 3 months, and even though I was away from home I didn't feel out of place. To say the staff is amazing is a massive understatement. Their knowledge of surrounding places is great, and their recommendations of what to see/ do are excellent. The hotel room was great and well equipped. The breakfast is great, but the real gem is the dinner menu. I never had a meal that I didn't enjoy, and most of the meals I enjoyed too much. Their bar is a great place to sit enjoy a drink, some food, and watch soccer or the F1 races. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there with them, and I thank everyone (Gerrit, Sonja, Johannes, Henning, and Gabriel) for all their kindness, conversation, friendship and hospitality while being there. I look forward to seeing them and staying with them in the future.

Junior suite was nice for four of us, but front desk could not provide a key to bedroom for privacy from our kids in the ante room. Pretty upset they couldn’t figure this one out. Not loving Germanys laws about four to a room as my family is five so two rooms are rarely connected which is a problem with little kids. Breakfast was good and quantity in the small restaurant. Bar had outdoor seating and smoking allowed inside. Overall good experience and great vicinity to Ramstein Airbase. I’d stay again.

The Merkur is an awesome place to stay when visiting Ramstein or Landstuhl. 6 minutes to the RAB gate. Right next to the A6. Location can't be beat. The star of the stay is the staff, though. Every one of them is amazingly helpful and friendly. Multiple times I was greeted by name and helped immediately. Top notch people. They have a great bar, a fantastic breakfast, and the rooms are clean and well appointed. The single downside is that they have the typical hard European beds and not softer mattresses. Don't let that change your mind, this definityly the place to stay!
