The most amazing stay! We absolutely loved Hotel Metropole, Venezia! It is the perfect location - close to everything but, not overcrowded when you step outside so it is super tranquil. We were lucky enough to be upgraded. Our room overlooked the smaller canal and we could also see out to the Grand Canal. Hotel Metropole has thought of everything you could possibly need for your stay in the most gorgeous room. The breakfast was something else in a very private garden setting...away from the busy streets and canals. We would definately stay here again and would highly recommend the hotel - you won't be disappointed! You must have provided something very special for us as my partner asked me to marry him while we were in Venice!
Absolutely adorable hotel. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Interior is with personality and beyond all praise. We stayed in room 115, which is side view of Grand Canal. Great service, clean , beautiful breakfast area. The location is perfect as well, only 5 minutes walk to St Marco Square and lots of restaurants just a couple of minutes away. Highly recommended this hotel. Will be definitely choosing it again when next visit to Venice! Thank you to all staff who made our holiday splendid!👌💯💟
The hotel is beautiful. A very gothic and oriental feel based on the influence of the east in ancient Venetian times. The staff were polite. Location is great. The citrus garden is lovely. Just one thing to be cautious of is that they offer a free boat ride from the hotel to a glass factory in Murano. This is a scam. They show you a glass making demonstration and then take you to a gallery, if you interested in a piece they become very pushy for you to purchase and then they send you off to Burano. Prices are very high. Luckily I did my research prior and I know of a few master murano glass artisans which I wanted to buy from (Salviati, Simone Cenedese, Barovier & Toso, Venini). When we told them we would first like to walk around the island and have a look at other places, they told us that there is nothing on the island, only factories and that those places are just gift shops. That’s when I knew they were scamming us - wanting us to buy €500 set of small glasses with no signature of a brand or master. Murano is a beautiful island with a lot to offer and luckily we left their factory and walked around and arranged our own transport to Burano. This is not what one would expect as an offering from a 5star hotel and hence my 3star review. It’s a lovely, charming hotel to stay in. Just be-careful of this murano scam and any other…
