Hotel Miramare & Spa

Ideally located on the beach in Sestri Levante. Walking distance to everything you could want to see and visit. The bar area and common areas are a highlight of the hotel. The restaurant area is also very nice with beautiful views. The rooms vary in size considerably. Bathrooms are the same. Some are snug some are more spacious. Make sure you ask when you book so you understand what you're getting (we had 3 different rooms due to the size of our family). Service is great. You have a very invested staff that treat the hotel and the guests like it's their business. The spa is great. Modest size but has many different environments to relax in. Hot, cold, wet, dry and everything in between. Would recommend you go to relax in between time at the beach ⛱️

Luxury Prices, Budget Hospitality If you’re looking for warmth, flexibility, or even the smallest gesture of goodwill — keep looking. I booked a prepaid, non-refundable stay via Booking.com. I later asked the hotel for something simple: since their direct booking rate includes free garage parking, could they extend the same benefit to my existing reservation? After all, their rates are already steep. The answer? A flat no, because they “pay commissions to Booking.com.” Apparently, that’s the guest’s problem to solve. Instead of showing hospitality, they offered me an awkward workaround: to reserve same room from their website then let them cancel my Booking.com booking,and wait (who knows how long) for the refund. They didn't even consider I could be charged double for that monthly card payment. Sounds relaxing, right? Exactly the stress you want before a holiday. The entire tone of their replies made it clear that flexibility, guest care, and building goodwill are not priorities here. For the price they charge, you’d expect them to value guests more than a few euros of parking fees — but perhaps when overtourism fills your rooms no matter what, making people feel welcome becomes optional. I left the exchange irritated, disappointed, and wondering if my money would be better spent somewhere that actually wants me there. Fortunately, in Sestri Levante and the Ligurian coast, there are plenty of hotels with the same level of comfort, better prices, and a genuine smile to go with it. Now I had to spend my 4 nights in a hotel I am not welcomed because I booked a non-refundable via another site. Let's not forget they are also charging for their small private beach (40 euros per person) if you stay in standard room where other room types have free access. Discrimination by guest budget at its best.

Disappointing and Misleading – Not Worth 4 Stars Be careful: this hotel advertises itself as “Miramare & Spa”, but the spa area is a complete rip-off. You have to dig deep into the details on Booking.com — some spa facilities are included, others come with an extra fee. This is intentionally non-transparent and misleading. Only guests booking a suite get one hour per day of free spa access. All other guests must pay €35 per person, per day for just 2 hours of access. Even suite guests need to reserve every day and are not allowed to stay longer than one hour. For a so-called 4-star hotel, this is completely customer-unfriendly and feels like a rip-off. The breakfast is equally disappointing for this category: very limited selection, hardly any fresh products — mostly bread rolls, cakes, and cheap spreads. Overall a big disappointment — the price-performance ratio is completely off. If you value wellness, stay away from this hotel.
