I stayed at Mona Plaza Hotel for a few days on a business trip, and everything ran smoothly overall. There was a minor issue with the hot water, which I was told affected the entire neighbourhood, and I wasn’t able to shower properly for quite some time. While that was quite frustrating, the staff compensated it rightly by covering the cost of my taxi back to the airport. The team were friendly and professional throughout, and I wouldn’t hesitate to return should I find myself in Belgrade again. I was also kindly offered an upgrade to an apartment upon check-in, which added a genuine touch of luxury to my stay.
Excelent to stay here when visiting Belgrad, one of the best hotels in the region, pretty close to the park and a lot of good restaurants, I mean the food in Belgrad is outstanding everywhere. The prices are decent, not a bargain, the quality makes up for it, you also get breakfast included 😋
When I arrived at the hotel, there was no one at the reception desk. Then a woman showed up, but her attitude was cold and unwelcoming. She checked my reservation and informed me that my room was ready. However, since it was only 1 p.m., I would have to pay an additional 20 euros to access it an hour early. I was stunned — the room was available, yet I had to pay extra just to enter it a little sooner (1h). I declined. Then came another surprise: a 30-euro per night fee for my dog. I said I wasn’t willing to pay that amount. But the response I got was even more frustrating — since my booking was non-refundable, I either had to pay the pet fee or pay cancellation charges. Thankfully, I was able to cancel the reservation through Booking.com. What I find most disappointing in all of this is the clear lack of staff training. Customer service is essential in the hospitality industry. Had I been greeted with warmth and professionalism, I would have gladly paid the extra charges. But I refuse to give my money to a place where I'm not treated with the basic respect a guest deserves.
