Hotel Monterey Okinawa Spa & Resort

We stayed for two nights in a Deluxe Room with breakfast and dinner included – and we were absolutely impressed! By Japanese standards, the room was exceptionally spacious and offered a stunning direct view of the sea. The interior was beautifully designed and high-quality – truly one of the best hotel rooms we’ve ever had in Japan. The buffet restaurant was excellent for both breakfast and dinner: a wide selection, healthy options, and everything tasted great. We also tried the traditional Japanese breakfast once, which was a wonderful experience. Unfortunately, the staff overlooked our dietary preference (no pork), so three dishes were not suitable for us. A small downside, but everything else was fantastic. The hotel also has a shop with a great selection of Okinawan specialties – perfect for souvenirs or snacks. The location is convenient as well: about a 5-minute walk to a Family Mart, 10 minutes to a Lawson, and around 15 minutes to a 7-Eleven. Overall, a wonderful stay – we would definitely come back again. ありがとうございました、とても素敵な滞在でした！– Thank you very much, it was a truly lovely stay! 💕

Overall, good in the environment and beautiful scenery. Very bad in below experiences, 1. A big and old screw which was stepped by my husband in the room when we just check in. I told the front desk and they insist to come in to repair the chair. (They found this is from the chair) 2. Very bad arrangement for western style breakfast restaurant. 1st day line up waiting until 90 mins and 2nd day the online booking shut down so have to go to the restaurant to take the waiting paper. In such position hotel, should not happen like this and makes the holiday hotel experiences with family become very bad. Not worthy at all!!!

Be careful with this place. Paid over 700$ and when you check in you find out about all the hidden costs. You have to pay to use all the pools, pay for chairs on the beach pay for chairs next to the pool. If you have tattoos just be prepared because they’ll tell you that you need to wear skin colour cover ups which are like $11 Aussie dollars for 3 small squares. We ended up buying a bandage and using that but was told that we weren’t allowed to cover up in the hot bath only their skin colour bandages. They also give you a parking pass then only once you’ve parked and brought everything upstairs tell you that it’s additional charge. also all their restaurants are severely overpriced like 23$ for cake and a coffee and their lunch place was closed so we had to track for food. Also their elevators are just dumb no elevator services the guest room and the second floor which is the floor you need for food, lobby, restaurants and access to outside and pools so you have to go down one elevator to the 3rd floor then walk the entire length of the hotel in bathers to get to the pool. We checked out a whole day early and even though they pocketed over $100 for the night we didn’t stay they still charged us for parking when we left. Also our sink was clogged in our room so we could barley use it. Everything feels like a money grab and it really takes the fun out of the holiday. The view was alright though. Australia has better beaches though
