Hotel Montfort Nicolet

Made a reservation for a Valentine's Day special promotion. The Valentine's surprise in the room could of been better I was expecting minimum a rose maybe rose petals and some theme like chocolate... The winter wine was alright and the decor and room was plain and original. We were on the top floor so the view was nice at least. The 4 course meal included in the promo was not bad, just annoyed I had to pay extra for my meal when I thought it was all included. Other than that our server was excellent. We had free access to the spa, 4 hot tubs, a cold plunge, a small sauna and a nice fire pit. Not to bad at all for what it is. The All you can eat breakfast buffet was included and it was better than expected with fresh fruit and many choices of food. Paid for a Valentine's couples 1 hour massage which included a facial massage and a day pass at the spa. Compliments to our massage therapists Frederique and Robin. Wonderful service and staff there and we also enjoyed the coffee shop. Other than that it was a decent memorable experience for that one night and will visit again during the summer.

This place looked great to book. When arriving I found out the spa was NOT included even though it shows photos of the spa and nowhere did it say not included or additional fee. I found this misleading and many of the staff agreed guest are always confused, yet nothing was done when mentioned at the front desk. We over paid per night, about 350$ through Expedia yet it seemed to be 200$ a night or so when we arrived. Not their fault since i understand prices fluctuate based on demand, yet it wasn’t fully booked and the price was 200$ a night when we arrived. The restaurant was ok, the staff is ok, massages were booked solid for 3 days, our whole time there, but really this place has so much potential, yet the management is doing everything wrong! Each guest is confused about something. Never a good sign! Take my advice and just be straight up with your guests. I would have frequented the place, yet I will never be back. I sadly would say I don’t recommend it. Potential is there! I wouldn’t gamble on it again even with spa etc. once burned you do not return..

Our group had seven rooms. Five of them did not have working air conditioning and the hotel did not care. My room was in the basement and every room on that floor had extremely loud water pumps that woke people up every time someone went to use the bathroom. The rooms are very tiny but are clean and comfortable if the air conditioning would work.
