Hotel Monticello

I just checked into my room. We went to the casino earlier and played and ate lunch. Everything so far has been perfect. Easy to park. Easy to get around. The casino is very clean. Non smoking. No cigarette smell. Machines are clean and lots of alcohol dispensers. The restaurants are very nice. Expensive and not expensive. Depends on what you want to eat. No lines anywhere. Workers are very helpful. They have a different players card system here. All your winnings go on your card. No paper pay outs. Very secure! Our room is very clean. Beds are comfortable. Great view of the mountains. Bottle of wine, water and chocolate on the beds. Nice touch. I cannot believe the things people complain about here. Palm trees???? Tacky casino??? WTH! So far 5 stars. More information later. 2nd. trip to the casino today. Great time. Ate at the Chinese restaurant. Food was very good but the menu is hard to follow. The bar in the casino serves a generous rum and coke. Very impressive casino. Security is very good. Many guards inside and outside walking the grounds after dark. The walk from the hotel to the casino is probably 8 to10 minutes. But I’m slow! Overall, very good visit. They need a few more poker games. I will return.

The registration and Security Services here are ridiculous. Every time you enter the lobby you must go through a security scan including all of your baggage and the Personnel are not particularly friendly. Despite what it says on their web page there is no early check-in so at 4:00 p.m. the lobby is a circus. The security entering the casino is equally ridiculous. First of all you must pay to enter the casino and be scanned by security not once but at two different locations. If you make the mistake of going to the buffet at the second floor you must exit the casino walk 10 steps go to the second floor and then go to through security again. Despite the fact that it is one of the only casinos around, we probably will not return because of the ridiculous security practices.

First of all , who in 2024, has to go through security to go to a hotel? In this hotel you have to go through a TSA like checkpoint just to go to your room. Definitely something that does not make me feel comfortable.The hotel rooms seem a bit dated. The place is definitely not a 5 or 4 star hotel. Dated rooms and furniture. Air conditioning is not the best, today the hotel staff did not change rooms and instead offered me a fan. Currently at 5am in the morning i am still waiting for the fan. Well se if they improve but i highly doubt it. If you want to be close to the casino, this is your place, otherwise I would recomend to stay in a different hotel.
