Hotel Musse Kyoto Shijo Kawaramachi Meitetsu

We absolutely loved our stay at this hotel! The location couldn't be more perfect — many of Kyoto's main tourist attractions are within walking distance, making it incredibly easy to explore the city on foot. Just behind the hotel is the city's largest market, a vibrant spot full of local flavor and a must-visit. There are also countless excellent restaurants nearby, offering everything from casual bites to traditional Kyoto cuisine. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully designed — easily the best we had during our entire trip to Japan. It was a perfect place to relax after a day of sightseeing. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kyoto!

Location is superb. Rooms are a decent size. Showers are super weird and I still cant figure I out how to shower properly. Its nice to have the separate toilet, but there is no exhaust fan. So the toilet will smell for a while after use. Buffet breakfast is really great, heaps of vegetarian options. I wish they had more though. Overall a cracking hotel which I would definitely stay in again, if I ever figure out how to shower 😅

The hotel was walking distance from the station and on one of the busiest streets of Kyoto. Although it’s on the busiest street, the room was super quiet and offered us amazing sleep. The service was amazing and the staff were so nice and accommodating. They offered to do extra paperwork for us while other hotel staff would normally not do. The room was perfect and cozy and the bathtub was a good size— couldn’t ask for a better stay.
