If you are looking for authentic experience with convenient access to airport and a lovely breakfast this is it. I found that we were cared for and inspired. I desire authenticity in experience and Mutterhaus achieved that with their vision. I also came to explore Kaiserswerth. While researching the beginning of modern nursing, the Mutterhaus was perfect! It gave the sense of being able to be one with my research. In history, nursing education changed the world. This hotel is only 10 minutes away from the airport, has delightful and competent staff, and served a beautiful breakfast. I think professional nurses, today and healthcare professionals need to have their conferences here. It’s amazing how this hotel has remodeled a historical sight without ruining the meaning of the original architects. If you love nurses (or teachers) stay here, just to support what these service professions have given you. The Deaconess Movement did alleviate all sorts of social ills on the planet. Stay here to get a sense of how to serve humanity in our time.
Beautiful building in a quiet area but well connected by tram. Comfortable rooms and the breakfast buffet was pretty nice!
First of all, beautiful location and building, especially right outside Düsseldorf (took us 15 minutes by car/uber), which truly made you feel like you were staying somewhere very remote. There were a few downsides though. I feel like the bathrooms could definitely use an upgrade, they were quite outdated. The beds were absolutely fine. We stayed here during a heatwave (35°+) which you can tell the hotel wasn't built for, so no AC and a very limited amount of fans available. Keep that in mind if you're traveling during the summer. We stayed here 3 separate nights for a work trip, and the lunch we had here was absolutely horrible. The food from the buffet was either super dry, swimming in grease or a horrible creamy white or mushroom sauce. We had spätzle one day, which smelled like wet dog, even from a table away. Truly, if they even slightly updated their lunch food choices a little bit, the stay would have been much more enjoyable. We skipped 3 out of the 6 lunches. The only ok and seemingly fresh food came from the salad bar. Breakfast was ok for a hotel breakfast. I did miss some bacon here and there, but they switched that up each morning I guess for sausages some mornings.
