Hotel MyStays Matsuyama

Best hotel in Matsuyama as I know of. Great location close to city and the Castlepark, and also easy access to the JR Matsuyama Station, Matsuyama City station, the city tram and the Otemachi station. Nice view from the hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Also nice price for being the great hotel that it is.

FIne - but there are better options that will likely be cheaper too. A very standard Japanese hotel room as in there is a bed, a small desk, a bathroom - and that is about it. There is nothing wrong with the hotel at all, per se. It actually does really well on some parameters, such as the front desk staff, which were excellent. It is also situated great. There's just nothing that makes it stand out either - and given that it is somewhat more expensive than other hotels in the area (had friends staying at several, so could witness it), it's hard to give it much more than three stars overall. Perhaps I just booked at the wrong time and there are better deals to be had at others.

Was definitely expecting better out of a 3.5 star hotel. The WiFi is nonfunctional, at least in our room on the 10th floor. The toilet paper is super cheap and thin. The room size was generous though, and the breakfast with sea bream is interesting. I thought to give 3 stars, but wifi that doesn’t work is a huge negative.
