My wife and I stayed here for three nights and cannot recommend it enough. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and so helpful. The location is very convenient to the train upon arrival and nothing is a very far walk. The breakfast buffet was delicious and we also greatly enjoyed dinner as well. The views from the room we stayed in and the new terrace deck (great place for an evening drink after a long day of hiking) were breathtaking. We already want to plan our next trip back for a winter ski vacation.
Beautiful hotel but some of the details are missing We booked two rooms under one reservation and the card was charged 2 weeks in advance and they wouldn’t let us split it later to two cards. They also wouldn’t let us split the incidentals between the rooms so everything was charged to one room. It just felt a bit disorganized, most hotels would have been able to sort this out easily. The hotel is beautifully decorated. The rooms and beds were comfortable. They had a crib and a highchair in the room for us. The maisonette family room has no bathtub. The kids club is not supervised outside the ski season. It’s a fun room and the kids enjoyed playing there. The restaurant was decent but not great. Included breakfast was good, they were very accommodating with the kids. The adult spa was very nice, except there was no way to turn the lights on in the shower area or the toilets or the cold plunge pool area. But they have nice saunas and relaxation area viewing the mountains
This hotel deserves 5 stars, but I took away one star because the descriptions of rooms are not completely accurate. For instance, I stayed in room type Double Room Superior, but the room number was 101, and I could barely see any well-known mountain from its balcony. I could mostly see the BLM station, although a part of the Lauterbrunnen valley was also visible in the evening. So the hotel staff should probably do a better job of ensuring that the descriptions of rooms are correct. They could charge more for rooms with better views. The hotel has designated 1F terrace as a designated emergency escape area, but they should perhaps open it to guests because the view of the mountains is quite good from there. Maybe they could extend their restaurant's al fresco seating there. Their dining hall indeed makes the hotel look grand like a palace, but as with all other hotels & restaurants in the region, flies are a huge nuisance during summers, so if you have breakfast there, get one item at a time. The restaurant is a hit-or-miss. They gave me a plant-based burger with a burnt patty. Perhaps the staff wanted to go home as I ordered it around 9 PM. I also dined at their restaurant on another day, and the pasta was good. They have few plant-based options, though. Porter service (with a golf cart) is quite useful. Room-wise & facilities-wise, it's undoubtedly the best propery in Mürren. If I'm ever able to find vacation time for Switzerland again, I'd stay at this hotel again. In fact, I might even be back in a month.
