We recently stayed for 11 nights at Hotel Napolean. Our room was average in size, but very well designed. It included a balcony facing the sea. The staff was extremely helpful, and the buffet breakfast (cold items only) was wonderful and reasonably priced. It includes many healthy items. The hotel is about a pleasant 10 minute walk from the old town. The hotel is decorated with interesting art. Some things to keep in mind: (1) While the soundproofing is quite good, heavy traffic (especially motorcycles) will still be audible from the road between the hotel and the water. (2) The very small parking lot is very awkward to back out of, and requires backing onto the busy road. There is a public parking lot at the beach across the road that appears to be safe for overnight parking, and is free except between July and September. (3) The gym is not kept up well, and was not air conditioned (at least while we were there). In spite of these considerations, this is likely the best hotel in Menton, and we would stay here again.
We have just returned from a 6 night stay at the hotel. All the staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. We had a garden view room with balcony which was lovely. The location is great for the old town and Menton Garavan station with frequent trains to other resorts. Unfortunately we had to leave a day earlier than planned due to a family medical emergency at home but the hotel receptionist and manager were extremely helpful and kind and we were not charged for the last night. We really appreciated their consideration and understanding. We will definitely stay at the hotel should we visit Menton in the future. Thank you Jeff and Alison Cheetham
Very nice hotel. Nicely appointed, fast elevators, fresh paint job, comfortable rooms. Stayed in back room facing hillside. Quiet and great views. Staff kind and spoke excellent English ( we're from New York City). Walking trails all around hotel leading up the hills. You'll never be bored.
