Hotel Nepalaya

I had a wonderful emergence with Hotel Nepalaya. They're having a wonderful staff with an amazing rooftop restaurant. Rooms are clean and well managed. They are budget friendly and the location is just a walk away to Thamel market. The most important thing is hygiene and budget which you can look through and give it a try.

Comfortable stay in the heart of Thamel Hotel Nepalaya offers a peaceful escape right in the middle of bustling Thamel. The rooms are clean, spacious, and well-maintained — perfect for travelers looking for comfort without breaking the bank. The rooftop is a real highlight, with beautiful views of Kathmandu and a relaxing vibe. A great spot to unwind after a day of sightseeing. The staff is polite and responsive, always ready to assist with travel plans or general help. While some services felt a bit commercial or commission-driven (expected in Thamel), the overall hospitality was warm and welcoming. A solid choice for travelers looking for a reliable, centrally located stay in Kathmandu.

Our two days stay here was good. I never believed we could get such a good deal so cheap. Hotel is an old building, but maintained reasonably well. 24 Hours hot water present. Bed sheets, blankets, towels etc are reasonably clean. Staff are very helpful. Attached restaurant on terrace is convenient and food is excellent. Continental Free breakfast was there which was good. Though there were not many items present with breakfast, whatever was given was freshly prepared, hygienic and tasty. Elevator present. What I didn't like was the free Wifi which was slow. But don't expect Luxury. At such cheap rate, we can't expect also. But you can have a comfortable stay here.
