Hotel New Otani Tokyo Executive House Zen

We booked the EXECUTIVE HOUSE ZEN Deluxe Double Room via our AMEX card. When we arrived, we received a room upgrade as well as all the benefits that came with the booking as expected. It was a smooth and professional check in process with the staff for our honeymoon. My husband and I loved every aspect of our stay there. Again, service was amazing and on point. We loved that the room decor was minimum and reflected a Japanese vibe. Access to the lounge was also available to eat at different points in time, so it was nice to grab snacks and drinks here and there. Although advertised on the AMEX site that our room would provide a Sakura view, we didn’t get it but that was alright. In terms of accessibility, the hotel is a little far from the subway (10-13 min walk). It’s probably more for a relaxation stay than for people on the go. P.S: I really took a liking to the welcome ginger tea that they provided us for a welcome drink. It was super delicious. I’m not normally a fan of ginger haha!

A very authentic Japanese experience was had, from the service to the room. Only complaint was the shower did not get hot. But the executive lounge service is unbeatable, food was solid within the hotel. Location is quiet and close to the subway.

Compared to other hotels which are comparable — or lower — in terms of the price point (such as Andaz or Grand Hyatt), the facilities at New Otani Executive House Zen overall seemed dated. We were also not thrilled with the food in the breakfast buffets and room service which was quite limited. The perspective to keep in mind is that Executive House Zen is a super high-end hotel-within-a-hotel with a really high price point. I will say that the staff were amazing and were extremely helpful to us when our kid got sick. They helped find a really good paediatric clinic nearby and also delivered a cute care package to us.
