It was a very very good experience, specially for families. The staff was too much helpful and professional. I recommended the hotel if you want to stay at the one of best in Austria!

All in all, the venue is great. The mountain view is amazing, the graden is beautiful, and the accommodations are broad. The reason for only 3 stars is that I was not happy with the food. Disclaimer: I‘m a vegan so anyone who doesn’t follow the same dietary regime might want to skip this part. Anyway, the culinary experience is central to hospitality and a big part of what makes up its value. Nowadays, I expect a 4 star hotel to offer at least one single solid vegan option. I‘m not asking for a variety of dishes but simply for A dish. With Hotel Oberforsthof, the kitchen staff definitely did accommodate my dietary restrictions. However, never was the food I was offered well-balanced nutritionally. Usually, it was some sort of carbohydrate (gnocchi, potato, bread, rice…) with a simple sauce or vegetables. The only source of protein was when there was beans at the salad buffet. So I was hungry throughout most of my stay because food without a healthy amount of protein just doesn’t make you feel full for very long. And tbh, a healthy vegan dish with enough protein these days doesn’t require anyone to go out of their way in terms of ingredients and their availability and coming up with a satisfying dish. So vegans will have a poor experience simply because their food will not be a priority like what they serve for omnivores but rather is an afterthought. Think: a tasty and satisfying vegan dish vs. something that passes the bar of being vegan and nothing more. That was very disappointing. The service and kitchen staff though was very friendly and I think tried their best to accommodate me. It was not a lack of caring about their vegan guest but rather a lack of ability to deliver a healthy and satisfying vegan culinary experience.

Location is good, although being in a little village full of hotels. However this is not suitable for families with older children as it is mainly a kids club and children’s hotel. We were severely disappointed with the price versus what we got. They only have a few well furnished rooms whilst others have not been renovated. Their promotion and website is highly misleading and cleverly made and everything outside is squeezed into one small garden.
