Hotel Opéra Opal

This is a very nice option in the center of Paris right near Madelaine. You are walking distance from everywhere, or very easily connected to Metro (and RUR). The rooms are spacious by European/Paris standards; shower was great. And the bed decent. The street noise was nicely insulated. You do hear and feel the metro underneath (we were on second floor!) Sadly, we did not try the breakfast, but the hotel was very clean. And the people working there helpful.

Lovely Hotel & Service. Me & my wife travelled from England. Complimentary water & hot drinks. Subway sound is slight but fine. Dulex Room was very clean & spacious with a nice shower room & a large bed. Heating wasnt working but reception gave us a heater which helped. Great location by shops. Would come here again.

We stayed from Friday to Monday and were extremely disappointed. For three full days, there was no hot water in the entire hotel. Every day we were told it would be fixed “soon,” but it never was. The only explanation we got was: “It’s the weekend.” But we came for the weekend to relax — not to take freezing cold showers and deal with broken promises. Worse, no one informed us about this issue in advance, not during booking or check-in. New guests were arriving completely unaware, which is unacceptable for a 4-star hotel. They also asked for our room preference ahead of time — and then gave us a different room without explanation. The only compensation was a very basic breakfast, which didn’t make up for the discomfort and poor service. This was a serious failure in professionalism and guest care. We expected comfort and honesty — instead, we left frustrated and disappointed. Would not recommend it to anyone.
