Upon arrival we were greeted by a really great staff member, Franco. He offered to make dinner reservations for us that was within walking distance. The place was excellent. We were so happy walking back, but when we checked into our room we were very disappointed. The rooms need major updating. We reserved space for three adults and we could barely get by and there was no room to put luggage and clothes away. The location is a 30 min walk to the city centre. It’s very safe, but the walls are paper thin - you can hear everything. The breakfast is good and the staff were great with exception to one front desk employee who yelled at my daughter when she asked for help in getting a taxi to come and pick us up from the university. The cab driver came to the hotel instead of the university and the front desk agent wanted her to pay for his mistake. The cab driver saw what happened and got upset at the front desk person. He was extremely rude and seems to have this mannerism with many hotel guests. The hotel is clean, but we were expecting more for a 4 star status hotel.

The reception was welcoming and the staff were friendly. Parking was safe and convenient However, in-room amenities were lacking no kettle, no coffee or tea, and not even a welcome bottle of water the cleaner did not seem professional. Breakfast was very limited and lacked variety, which was disappointing. Overall, it’s a basic hotel, suitable only for short stays.

This hotel could work, but there are too many small (and not-so-small) issues that make the experience frustrating. Let’s start with something serious: construction noise inside the hotel at 8:00 AM — in August. No guest expects to be woken up by drilling and banging while on holiday. Completely unacceptable. Check-in was quick and the staff were friendly — that’s a plus. The room was spacious and visually okay, but one curtain didn’t close, and the air conditioning turned itself on at 4:30 AM, even though we had switched it off manually. The TV was small and not a Smart TV, no Wi-Fi, no streaming — which is standard in 2025. The wardrobe was tiny, we only got one set of towels for two, and the toiletries were minimal and needed constant refills. The telephone in the room looked like it hadn’t been changed in over 20 years, completely outdated and barely functional. The hallway carpets were visibly dirty and worn, clearly not deep-cleaned in a long time. The breakfast was the weakest of our 8-day trip through Italy (5 different 4-star hotels). Poor in both quantity and quality. As an example, the only oil available for bread was a sweet salad-style sachet, not real olive oil. The lobby is spacious and well-equipped, but honestly, not as stylish or elegant as the photos suggest. There's a sense that the place is trying to look more upscale than it really is. The location is about a 15–20 min walk from the centre of Verona, so not ideal unless you’re driving. One real positive: free indoor parking, secure and very convenient. In short: this feels more like a 3-star hotel, trying to live off its old reputation. Rating: 2 out of 5. Would not return.
