We came to San Sebastián for the Donosti Cup. Everything about this hotel was amazing. We booked the Mirador room and it was very clean. It had access to the deck which was nice. I was worried it might be busy but it wasn’t. All the staff spoke English and were very friendly. I loved that this hotel is nestled in a little town. There is a market, cafes, and two restaurants. You can walk to the beach but it’s about a 45 minute walk downhill but almost an hour walk back uphill. Not a problem because there are lots of shops and restaurants on the way. We will definitely return back.
Everything in this hotel is fine. Rooms are fine, staff is nice and there's parking available (which can be limited late at night). My only comment is how can a "4 star" hotel paying +/-200€ per night not allow you to charge bar or restaurant charges to your room? Staying in over 1,000 hotels in my time, this is the first that I had to pay separately for food and beverage charges and not allow it to bill to my room. This was the only disappointment. Hopefully they can change this and make it more convenient for their guests in the future.
Mostly outdated hotel + the hotel has a good(ish) location - the hotel feels very outdated. Maybe just modernized the wifi in the last 20 years? Everything else is stuck in the 90s - cleanliness felt very poor. Dust is all over the place in hard to reach places. As a dust mite allergic, I had to take extra medication to be able to sleep - No walk-in shower. You get a 90s bathtub - Forget about the free parking they advertise. It's very limited and in the street. I had to search for a parking space for 10 minutes and walk for another 10 minutes to be able to get to the hotel. They then tell you can pay 12€ and get a space in another parking they have??? Shouldn't they say it's paid parking instead??? - No fridge and TV is maybe the cheapest one they could find. No youtube or netflix - The hotel is very noisy. Cleaning staff, when they start working, feel like they about to enter your room at any moment while you are sleeping. Couldn't sleep anymore...
