Hotel Palazzo Guardati

This was a great little find. Tucked just off of Piazza Tasso, this hotel is incredibly quaint and cute. The room was good, two things kept it from great. 1). We couldn’t regulate the temperature in our room, and we were warm several nights. 2). The shower was a little tight. It’s a bathtub/shower combo, but it was narrow. The bathroom was BEAUTIFUL! LOVED IT! It was just a little challenging to shower. The 2 jewels: 1). The location! Can’t beat it!!!! Perfection. 2). Peppe, the bartender. You must try a limoncello spritz. I had 5 over my time there and his was the best. He frequently offered advice on things to see including tips and tricks. He is absolutely wonderful. You must go to the rooftop-the views are top notch h. Housekeeping was wonderful and thorough. Such a kind woman. I would recommend this hotel as long as the shower doesn’t bug you. The temperature, I think they just didn’t turn on the AC yet. A simple fix that created a small blemish.

My family of four loved this place. We checked out after two nights to share a VRBO with another family and we really missed it! The quad room is charming and works well for a family of four. The front desk staff went out of their way to help arrange transportation to the train station in Naples from our VRBO. They didn’t have to do that. But they didn’t with a smile. The rooftop pool is small but it is a great place to beat the heat and take a break from the crowded streets of Sorrento. Pepe, the pool server was absolutely fantastic. He took care of us and gave us some great recommendations. We also loved the breakfast. If we return to Sorrento, we will stay here again.

I recently stayed here on my honeymoon and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. We had to leave after just 1 night out of our 5-night booking due to a medical emergency that required hospitalization. Despite the circumstances, the hotel refused to offer any reimbursement, which I found incredibly lacking in compassion. Additionally, we were charged the city tax for the nights we didn’t even stay, which felt unfair. The first night was particularly challenging as we were kept awake by excessive noise from nearby rooms and the corridor. We also encountered a strong, unpleasant smell in our room upon check-in, which made our stay even less enjoyable. We would have requested a room change if we hadn’t been dealing with so much already. While the location of the hotel is convenient, the lack of understanding and support from the staff overshadowed any positives. I cannot recommend this hotel based on my experience and will not be returning.
