Hotel Palazzo San Niccolò & Spa

This was our home base for the vacation of a lifetime. Charming and warm. The staff, Alessio in particular, made us feel special. We were immediately comfortable and sad when we had to leave for home. Radda in Chianti itself was charming and peaceful with some very fine restaurants to choose from. This was an unforgettable experience.

The highlight of our last-minute trip to Italy. The hotel is housed in a gorgeous building in good repair. Our suite was absolutely luxurious, with two marble bathrooms and ancient stone building in good condition with no dust. The hotel has an elevator. Coffees at the breakfast buffet were very good. Some of the cakes were homemade. The staff had no trouble to inform us about food allergy ingredients. The hotel and the neighbor hotel Leopoldo down the street share the same management. Our stay entitled us to a daily visit to the indoor mineral bath, which was pleasant and OK, including private changing rooms and towels. We only needed to book our 45 minute time slot in advance.

Caffè San Niccolò, two years in a row a bad experience. Family of four, 12:30pm asking whether lunch was available. We were greeted (again) by a disgruntled woman who couldn’t be bothered and basically just turned us away. You may not be open for lunch yet (really??) but there’s no need to be so rude. Nevermind though because just a few steps away you will be greeted with a smile!
