Hotel Palazzo Stern

Iconic location right on the Grand Canal. Staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms are well-appointed but small (you can't expect bigger in Venice, though). The restaurant terrace, reserved for hotel patrons, is a beautiful sanctuary.

We stayed at Palazzo Stern in September 2024 and the experience was an all time favorite. The staff were stellar - professional, kind, friendly and helpful, without exception. Our room had a balcony on the Grand Canal, which was my favorite place to be in Venice, especially at night. The location is perfect, in a quiet neighborhood steps from local bars and restaurants with a vaporetto stop just outside the hotel entrance. From the private water taxi to the waterfront terrace to the luxurious decor, the hotel cannot be beat.

Staying at Palazzo Stern was the best decision my partner and I made for our trip to Italy. The staff, specifically Sabina, were kind and helpful, giving invaluable insider tips based on their experience as people living in Venice themselves. Sabina was keen and passionate about suggesting walking routes and interesting things to see based on the kind of travellers we are, as well as going to trouble securing restaurant and excursion bookings for us. I genuinely appreciate her, Rani, at the breakfast service (a delicious and ample breakfast, they managed to cater wonderfully to my vegan requirements) and the skipper of the private water taxi. Every staff member we encountered here was helpful and friendly. We hope to stay here again and we were genuinely sad to leave. Also, the views over the Grand Canal are unforgettable.
