The rooms were clean and big in a nice "jungle village" style. The towels were an issue every single day... The staff was very friendly but a bit chaotic and the towel issue should not happen in a place where it's claimed to have 4*... No access to the lagoon from hotel location even if in the pics looks differently... The lagoon border is almost completely closed with private property. Not so near to the center of town (Bacalar) and if you don't have a car, it could be complicated to move around.
Wouldn’t recommend it. Overpriced & old hotel which has potential but really isn’t there yet. There is current construction work going on & it feels like staying at a construction site. Old & partially dirty rooms (dirty walls, dirty shower curtain, clean sheets), loud at night & lagune access only via another hotel. Dirty chairs & floor at the lagune access. We skipped breakfast after the first day as the choices were limited & it didn’t feel inviting. Plus side: okayish wifi & we were able to use kayaks for free. Overall I really wouldn’t recommend booking it.
The hotel was ok but I wouldn’t recommend it. Loud street nearby. Breakfast wasn’t too great coffee was mediocre. Wifi was ok. Boat trip was cool. it is like 30min walk from the center and you might wanna take a taxi.
