Cozy and stylish small double room – ideal for solo travelers or short stays for two I stayed in a small double room, which was beautifully designed and very cozy, though quite compact. I’d recommend it for one person or for a couple on a short getaway. There’s no wardrobe—just two shelves under the bed and a hanger in the entryway—which might be a bit limiting for a longer stay. The room had some great features, like a Flow kettle with delicious tea, a very good clothes steamer, and a powerful hairdryer. The real standout, though, was the set of toiletries from &Tradition – truly the best I’ve ever used in a hotel. The scent was amazing, and I’m seriously thinking of buying them for myself. The only thing that could be improved is the soundproofing. I could hear some noise from the hallway, the street, and even a TV from another room. It didn’t disturb my sleep, but I’d suggest bringing earplugs just in case.
We recently stayed at Hotel Petra and were really looking forward to it- it’s a beautifully designed space in a fantastic location, and it’s clear the team has put a lot of thought into the overall aesthetic and concept. The front desk staff (especially the woman we interacted with most often) was warm, helpful, and seemed genuinely invested in making guests feel welcome. That said, there were a few issues during our stay that made the experience less comfortable than we’d hoped, especially at this price point. The biggest concern was that housekeeping entered and cleaned our room on the second day despite the “Do Not Disturb” sign being up. Some of our belongings were moved, which felt invasive. When we mentioned it at the front desk, the staff member was clearly appalled and apologetic, but we were only offered a verbal apology, which felt a bit dismissive given the breach of privacy. There were also a couple of moments that felt more frustrating than they needed to be- for example, when our keycard stopped working, the staff member on duty was slow to help and somewhat accusatory, which was surprising given how easily and kindly a similar issue was handled at another hotel on our trip. The same person checked us out and was again not particularly warm or efficient, which stood out in contrast to the rest of the team. The room itself was chic and well-appointed but wasn’t spotless on arrival. The shower also didn’t drain properly, so the bathroom flooded even with short showers. We could also hear both our neighbors (not their voices, but movement and showers) and street noise, even from the fourth floor, which made sleep a bit difficult. Overall, I think the hotel has a lot of potential and some lovely touches, and I genuinely hope they’re able to work out some of the early kinks. With stronger attention to detail and consistency in service, it could be a wonderful place to stay.
I booked with this hotel. For some reason my payment did not go through - the hotel emailed me twice about making payment again MANUALLY by clicking a direct link they sent me. From the time of my payment being declined to the time they sent me the manual links to pay, I already booked another hotel and paid in full. Then, Hotel Petra charges me in full after stating that I needed to manually make a payment. This is unfair and not transparent. The hotel will not respond to my inquiries and Im hoping this negative review forces them to take action on the above.
