Cannot agree with the negative reviews recently posted. Rooms were large and clean, breakfast was good and with some local specialties (yes the pink sausages weren’t too fun but no one forces you to eat them) and the pool larger than on pictures and very nice. If you are reasonably fit you can easily walk to the hotel from the old town (about ten minutes’ walk).
Unfortunately I have read the reviews too late. This was the most expensive hotel we stayed at during our week long holiday in Montenegro and it was definetely not worth the money. Our view was towards an ugly building so we didn’t use the balcony. The rooms are old and tiny (clean though). The location is on top of a hill and even though the staff tells you it’s only a 7 min walk into the town center they mean down the hill - it’s another 20 min from there. We took a cab back and it was 20€. Also as others have mentioned before the bed sheets were wet and we had to ask for new ones. The air con was loud and in general the whole building was quite badly soundproofed. What I found the most outrageous thing was how different the pictures on the website look from the actual hotel. Also they charged us 5€ for a red bull we took from their fridge. The breakfast was good though and the girl at the reception was nice too - these two points prevented me from giving only 1 star.
There are a lot of overly positive reviews for this hotel which I don't think give a truly accurate representation of what it was really like. In my opinion the hotel was below average and several aspects of the stay were truly awful. The breakfast in particular was largely inedible and I'm sure last night's leftovers were being served on the breakfast buffet. I would give the breakfast 0 stars if possible and say it seems like they don't keep the food fresh or warm once it has been served. It was just cold fried eggs, plastic looking sausages, leftover pizza and some kind of enchiladas from the night before. I also need to mention that the service was shockingly bad. The hotel hand no running water for a whole night, this then carried on into the following day. When I asked the staff at reception about this, all they could say was that "it was budvas problem" and they couldn't do anything about it. Even if they had just offered a bottle of water that would have been nice... The location is also pretty bad. I'm quite fit so able to walk up the hill to the hotel but if you struggled with mobility then only way to reach the hotel would be by car. A final complaint would be the hotel pool. This is advertised as small which is fine but in my opinion it was also dirty. I went for a dip to cool off while the water wasn't running but the pool was full of dead flies and wasn't very inviting. A positive note would be that the rooms are clean and modern but pretty much everything else about the hotel is very disappointing.
