Hotel Plaza del Castillo

The hotel was located quite far from the city!!but there was a nearby bus stop, although it was a bit time-consuming!The hotel staff kindly helped us get a rental car at a reasonable price, which worked out very well for us. The hotel itself was very clean, the breakfast was excellent, and the staff were extremely polite and helpful. We were very satisfied with our stay and enjoyed our time at the hotel.

This hotel was a significant disappointment, possibly acceptable only as an airport hotel for folks on transit. The location is unacceptable; it’s situated in an industrial area that is not walkable and right next to a motorway. We booked two adjacent rooms with a single bathroom, and the accommodations were basic at best. Having stayed in several 4-star hotels in Spain, I can confidently say this one is by far the worst. The overall feel of the hotel is more akin to a two-star establishment than the advertised 4-star rating. Additionally, the breakfast was subpar compared to other hotels we've encountered. We prepaid for three nights, yet they refused to issue any refund and wouldn't allow us to switch to two separate rooms, each with its own bathroom, despite our request immediately after check-in and our willingness to pay extra. Consequently, we left after just one night, forfeiting the payment for the remaining two nights. This experience was entirely unacceptable.

Honestly, I strongly advise against staying at this hotel. There was a wedding taking place on the premises, with extremely loud music playing all night long. It felt like we were part of the event ourselves, due to the unbearable noise and the extremely poor soundproofing of the rooms. Sleeping was simply impossible. The hotel staff did absolutely nothing to ensure the comfort of guests who were there to rest, which is, after all, the main purpose of a hotel. When we complained at the reception, they said they couldn’t do anything because the event was organized by a different company. That explanation seems questionable, considering only a flimsy fence separated the wedding venue from the hotel’s central courtyard. And even if the hotel wasn’t directly responsible, the issue could easily happen again, and I doubt many people would enjoy a sleepless night at a hotel. On top of that, the air conditioning doesn’t work, so don’t count on cooling down your room. The atmosphere is also very gloomy and uncomfortable, with a décor that feels like something out of a horror movie. The hotel is located in an industrial area, 7 km from the city center, close to the airport and highway, so expect a lot of noise. Finally, if you still decide to go and ruin your holyday in Málaga, make sure to come by car, not by bus. Avoid line 25 at all costs, no exaggeration, it genuinely felt life-threatening.
