We stayed one night at Hotel Plesnik and it was a truly memorable experience. The hotel is a bit hard to find, but once you arrive, the scenery is absolutely breathtaking—surrounded by mountains and nature. We booked a balcony room, and waking up to that view was just incredible. The hotel is on the pricier side, but the peaceful environment and quality of the facilities make it worth it. The wellness area was a highlight, with an outdoor natural pool, sauna, and a great place to relax after a long day. Food-wise, breakfast was good with fresh options, but dinner took a really long time to be served. We were honestly a bit surprised by how slow it was 😂. Still, staff were friendly and the atmosphere was cozy. Overall, it’s a beautiful escape into nature—perfect for a quiet getaway if you don’t mind the remote location and higher price.

The spa area and location is what makes this hotel so special. The whirlpool is fantastic. The rooms are a bit musky and if you are unfortunate to stay on the front side of the hotel you are bombarded with noise from the kitchen staff (cars pulling up, humans, clanking of who knows what) during every meal) which really takes away from the relaxation. The food must be pre-ordered and and is okay, but not fantastic. The rooms do not have air condition so if you come in the summer remember to book a room not on the front otherwise you will be woken/kept up by the noise and cigarette smoke coming in through the window.

This review is strictly for dinner. We went into this one with high hopes, having read they were awarded a Michelin star. What was to follow was complete mediocrity. Dishes were clearly under seasoned as a rule. The roast beef was served on a waffle completely dry and lifeless. The onions braised in beer served with onion foam oddly have only a faint hint of onion. This was a very one dimensional dish that just came across bland. My wife had the fish which was admittedly the best thing served. My pork loin has the consistency of jerky, as you can see from the picture. It was tough, stringy, and again, lacking in any real flavor. Dessert was a passable carrot cake that wasn't special in any particular way. Overall the meal was a 2/5 and left is shocked this place has been rated as highly as it has been in the past. Would recommend to avoid.
