Hotel Poesis

Beautiful hotel with very friendly service. We celebrated our wedding here and our guests from germany enjoyed it very much. The breakfast was also delicious and the rooms were very clean. We fell in love with the enchanting garden. When we are in Romania we like to come back to Poesis at any time.

It was a one night stay with my wife. It was really hard to find a good place in Satu Mare.

The place is quite nice, although the lacquer finishes didn't do justice to the antique architraves (it was used the kind of uninspired lacquer that gives the impression of plastic at the touch). The place feels a bit outdated (the ventilation in the bathroom wasn't working for example). The furniture is antique with amazing details and a great state of conservation. The venue has a nice looking restaurant which was unfortunately closed (Sunday evening). The overall sensation is that you travelled back in time at least a century. The modern lockings at the doors (a bit too vocal for my taste) somehow fit quite well within the environment. The hotel has some front parking spaces and a great looking interior courtyard, containing a patio. The location itself is somehow awkward to reach due to the many traffic restrictions in that zone. With some repairs and some more adequate finishing touches the place could be a dream stay even for longer periods (situated as it is next to an attractive riviera).
