Service is Top, I had my boyfriend's birthday, and the team there really help me in making this experience unique. If you like to have beach party check with hotel as you need to reserve for beach party one day ahead. Rooms are ok I think hotel should get a little refresh and upgrade but beside that customer service and employees of the hotel make your experience very nice one
Brought the Mrs and two wee ones (17 and 5) for the weekend during an Xterra race. Had a blast. Rooms are clean, service is friendly and the view is great. We stayed over Friday and Saturday nights (End of November), no issues with noise from the night club that others are complaining about. Pools were clean and enjoyable. Beach service was great. Through the hotel, you have the access to a beach mattress near the water without minimum spend. DJ played throughout the day; got a little loud as the day got into the late afternoon, but not unbearable. It’s a bit on the party side of things versus a quiet retreat when it comes to the beach scene - keep in mind. Fish dishes were great; kids were happy with their meals. Rooms were a little pricey, but considering the area, it’s what to expect this time of year. Bring you sunscreen, and enjoy the experience.
The hotel is great for the views assuming you have an ocean view room. Watching the sunrise in the morning was beautiful. Just make sure to book the ocean view if you choose to stay here. We were here for a wedding at Silk Beach club so it was super convenient to just walk downstairs to the wedding (which was stunning). The free breakfast was mediocre at best and when the items ran out with an hour and a half left of breakfast service, they just stopped refilling things. The selection was deli meats that no one touched and bread items basically. We ended up not really taking advantage of the breakfast and ate out most mornings because it was so mid. Location is great in that you’re right on Praia Brava and can walk downstairs to the beach. However, the Silk Club, which is connected to this hotel, only opens at 11am which means you can’t get access to the beds that overlook the ocean until they open. There are chairs available to sit in right on the beach itself but I’m sure you have to do business with the food vendors to sit there. Another thing to note is that while it’s nice that the hotel provides vouchers for free beds at silk club, there are only 5 total beds at the very top of the club that are first come first serve so you can’t sit anywhere you want. It does have a true club vibe to it with a DJ and all so I wouldn’t come here planning for it to be a family-friendly place or even super romantic. There is a very tiny pool here but dirty and doesn’t look like the water has been cleaned. Rooms: When we walked into the room, there was an immediate and noticeable musky smell which seemed to be linked to the bathroom. It was so bad that we actually decided to go to the local supermarket to buy febreeze and glade air fresheners. We did leave the balcony door open on occasion for fresh air, however, the people below us were often smoking 🚬 which meant no fresh air for us. The room/bathroom was not super clean either imo. Also, when we walked out onto the balcony, we kept seeing a huge wasp flying around so I wouldn’t plan on leaving the door open for very long and definitely not overnight while sleeping. One last thing to note: often times we’d wake up to the sound of the gardener weed wacking at like 9am and we stayed there a full week. I think he could at least wait until breakfast is over at 10am. This hotel is listed as 4 stars but realistically is more like 3. Overall, the redeeming qualities were beautiful ocean views and amazing location but I would choose to stay elsewhere next time.
