I had a wonderful stay at the President Wilson Hotel. The service at the reception was excellent—friendly, efficient, and welcoming. My room was spotless, beautifully designed, and had a stunning view of the lake. What truly stood out was the exceptional care from the staff. I was feeling unwell with throat pain and requested salt and hot water. They responded incredibly quickly, ensuring I had what I needed to feel better. This level of attentiveness and hospitality made my stay even more memorable. Highly recommend this hotel for its comfort, service, and breathtaking views!
So far one of the worst experiences ever at a Marriott. After traveling all day by train, our room was not ready at 4pm. So we were directed to the hotel for an overpriced snack, as lunchtime was over. After eating our room was still not ready at 5pm. Finally getting a room well after 5…No compensation or upgrade. Upon arriving at the room we find it is locked from the inside. Sitting in the hallway for another 20 minutes to no avail. Only to find another room down the hall was mysteriously also ready. Poor management. Sad for a Marriott property. As a side note we came to relax by the pool before returning home, only to find they have closed the pool all day for a private party. Would have been good to know when we booked. If you offer an amenity, it should be available. VERY DISSATISFIED!
The rooms are shockingly outdated and poorly maintained. The rooms are small dark and sad. Paint is peeling off the doors, furniture is worn, and the overall decor feels neglected and uninspired. We booked this so-called five-star hotel five days in advance, specifically to enjoy a relaxing Saturday by the pool. Yet upon arrival, we were told the pool was closed to hotel guests for a private event — with no prior notice. With five days’ lead time, this could and should have been communicated clearly. I have never heard of a hotel pool closed to hotel guests before on a Saturday in summer. To make matters worse, turndown service was entirely forgotten. This is unacceptable in any setting, and certainly not what one expects from a hotel that claims five-star status. Based on both appearance and operations, this property fails to meet the standards of high-end hospitality. While the staff is polite and well-meaning, there is only so much they can do within such a tired, run-down facility. This is simply not a hotel worthy of the Genève Internationale — not by look, not by service, and not by experience.
