incredibly well informed and professional. took us too many days to figure out how to turn the AC down (its a remote) they have incredible showers! the whole floor is tile so perfect for the extra beach sand that you collect. the walk to the beach can be rough but it's gorgeous and worth it!
If you’re looking to practice responsible tourism in Costa Rica, I strongly advise against visiting Punta Leona Beach Club & Nature Resort. This resort is involved in the illegal privatization of a public beach, something that is against the law in Costa Rica. Beaches are public by law, and yet this resort restricts access, intimidates, and even harasses local people who try to enjoy the beach, as is their right. It’s incredibly disappointing to see a place that markets itself as “eco-friendly” act in direct opposition to the values of sustainability, inclusivity, and respect for local communities. This is not the Costa Rica we want to promote to the world. Choose better. Support places that respect the environment and the people.
This hotel was less than a star. But they got one star because the front desk lady was polite and a few of the restaurant workers were polite too. Other than that our room was terrible and old. When we took a shower the water ran out by the door of the bathroom. The food at the restaurants made me sick to my stomach were I was in the room for one whole day because I was so sick. The beach was not that clean and the locals there were very rude where one of them told us to go back to our country. I will never visit this country again let alone come back to this hotel. Had to take a shuttle bus everywhere and no room service which wasn’t a big deal. But not feeling safe when a man is yelling and telling you to go back to your country is outrageous. I tried to make a complaint with one of the managers there but he brushed me off and told me that that person was a member and he was already gone so it was alright. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy.
