Hotel Puuc is the best hotel I've stayed at in Oxkutzcab. I like that it is affordable (only ~23 USD including air conditioning), and sometimes has hot water. The wifi drops quite frequently, but when it doesn't, it is fast. Fortunately, the hotel's restaurant has strong and stable wifi. Additionally there is a nearby cafe (Jabad cafe) that has very fast wifi. The pool is clean and not crowded. I think that for the location and price, this hotel is good. But don't expect the same amenities as 4 star hotels in the big cities :)
Friendly service, clean and comfortable. Fair prices and they provided us with a bottle of water every day. I liked the restaurants, too. It opens at 7am and has everything you need. Only downside: It was a little loud. To be fair we didn't specifically ask for a quiet room and ours was heading to the street. Maybe we could have asked for one of the suites located on the other side. Still: Would recommend!
We booked and arrived the same day and everything went well. Payment only in cash. The hotel is more like a motel with a huge parking. We had a very simple and quite small and old room - clean enough but the bathroom and mattress was so old that no amount of cleaning would probably take away the years of stains. Our room had no fridge and there was only bright and very up comfortable lighting, no night or warm light which really impacts the atmosphere quite negatively and highlights all imperfections of the room. But fair for the low price, and the air conditioning was working ok. Water pressure in the shower was unfortunately very very limited and it took a long time to wash my long hair. The pool was bigger than expected and well maintained in a little garden area in the back, unfortunately quite a walk away from our room across the huge parking lot, and there were no hammocks or beach chairs to rest, only "normal" plastic chairs to sit at the plastic tables. Breakfast can be had in the restaurant next door. Overall good and affordable place to stay for a night or 2, even though the quality and overall comfort of the room left more to be desired.
