Hotel Quinta Do Furao

It was a perfect holiday. The hotel is characterised by its excellent location with a breathtaking view. The breakfast is designed to cater for everyone. Very tasty. The staff are exceptionally accommodating, the rooms are comfortable and the location is excellent. We will be back again.

As I am writing this, I still can’t believe how amazing our stay was. The views are just as breathtaking as you see in the pictures. The staff is just wonderful. Even when you are not staying at the hotel, you should definitely pass and have a drink. In one word: WOW!!

We recently had brunch for four at Quinta do Furão, and unfortunately, the experience was quite underwhelming. To begin with, the one-hour time limit seriously detracts from what a brunch should be — a relaxed, unhurried moment to enjoy. The menu was surprisingly limited, resembling more an overpriced breakfast than a proper brunch. On a positive note, we were kindly attended by a very professional and attentive Venezuelan waiter — easily the highlight of our visit. However, the rest of the brunch staff appeared disengaged, and several dishes that ran out were never replenished. Whether this is due to organizational shortcomings or poor working conditions, the end result is a sense of carelessness that leaves a poor impression. Another downside was the automatic addition of a 10% tip at payment. While optional in theory, the way it’s presented makes it feel awkward to refuse — not a great experience for guests. In summary: €55 per person (including tip) for a limited breakfast and access to the garden and pool feels excessive. We wouldn’t return.
