Hotel Raahen Hovi

This hotel does the job reasonably well and if you need a professional place I would recommend this. It offers breakfast with a full buffet which is great. The shower may be a bit too small for some people. The floors are all hard floors so no carpets, which makes noise travel more, but it may be better for allergies and hygiene.

Was given and paid for a superior double room, it was not terribly superior. The person at reception did not seem terribly interested in making sure we were comfortable, seemed more interested in just getting us out of the way. Not a terribly charming ambience, I would probably try a different town altogether in the future.

Recently travelled for business. Before being scared off though, from looking at the alternatives, it looks like it is one of the better ones in the area. The hotel is very basic, the room wasn't located in the main hotel building, it was across the road in another building, there was a Sauna in the main hotel, not quite as handy when you have to cross the road to get to it. The breakfast was also in the main building. Perhaps it is just my taste, but there wasn't a great deal of hot food choices, dry meatballs, hot dog type sausages & scrambled eggs, which I think may have been made with powdered eggs (the only way I think you could get the consistency). This was my first time in Finland, so unsure if this is just the norm for breakfast. The room was generally clean, however it wasn't cleaned everyday, I stayed for over a week and there were 2 days in a row it wasn't cleaned/towels replaced. The curtain fell off, my colleague also had the same issue in his room. I felt cold a few nights, the heating didn't seem to be on at all. The toilet was a bit smelly, not sure if the extractor was sufficient. There was parking next to the hotel which was free. There was also a few restaurants nearby that were good. There is a big supermarket nearby & a Lidl.
