Stayed an amazing 4 nights in late July. Room was ready early and they gave us welcome drinks. The included breakfast is fantastic - and Americans love our breakfast. They offer terrific box lunches as well if you are heading out to hike in the nearby mountains. Dinner was fantastic- the best lamb I’ve ever had. Well staffed by very friendly people. Room was very clean and comfortable. Nice balcony to enjoy as well. Already thinking of our next visit.

Loved Hotel Ranga!! I highly recommend this hotel. The owner was working at the front desk and was so friendly and proud of his place. We loved walking out the back door of our rooms and jumping in the hot tubs right there (like 20 feet from our patio). The rooms are small but the common area is wonderful and the restaurant was fantastic. The view over the river bend was so cool. I am so glad we added this as a stop on our way back to Reykjavik.

Our stay at the Hotel Ranga was, simply put, wonderful! The surrounding 360 views were stunning on a clear sunny day and even the clouds didn’t dampen the beauty of the nearby river. We stayed for a few nights and on the first night I got lucky enough to spot the Northern Lights despite it being early May and outside of the normal viewing season. The rooms were nice, my only dock of a point being for the strange bathtub/shower set up that maybe could use some modernization. But what truly made our stay here so remarkable was the staff and the food! We ate at the restaurant every night and it was some of the best food we’ve ever had (our favorites were the wild mushroom soup and the lamb) The staff was so friendly and lovely. And the hot tubs! What a treat after a long day. Would highly recommend staying here for the northern lights or even just an easy access point to the various waterfalls and black sand beach along the coast.
