The location of the hotel is very good. Lots of eateries around the place and it faces the sea. Walk distance to Black Pork Street and Dongmun market. As we had rented a car, we registered with the hotel and was able to enjoy free parking in the hotel car park. Will definitely go back again when we visit Jeju!
While the rooms are alright, the service have much room for improvement. Never mind the issue with regards to the beds in the room, even bringing the small Jeju melon down to the reception to ask for a knife to cut it up was met with a hard no with no explanation. I was prepared to cut the melon in front of them if they are worried the knife is brought elsewhere for other uses. And what do you mean no knife? It’s beyond me how a hotel that serves breakfast has no knife to cut up a fruit.
It's super cheap for a reason. And price is pretty much the only good thing. While the service and parking is great, and location is close to the airport, the rooms need major updating, including the door, which has a huge gap below, letting you hear noises extremely well. The biggest problem is during non-summer months, they only have heating available. No A/C. We turned everything off and it was super hot; we had to open the emergency windows, hoping that rain and bugs (I saw a cockroach outside) wouldn't come in, to make the room be at a comfortable temperature. You can tell the owners of this hotel are probably the cheapest people in the world and just don't care. They even charge you money (I forgot how much, maybe $10) if when you check out you don't return the room plastic cards (keys). So you're holding on to card-keys that have been reused over and over I imagine it's super unsanitary. The rooms are not super clean... They only have one old (but very sweet and helpful) lady doing the cleaning. Lots of mold in the bathroom. The beds barely fit in. On one side they are almost touching the wall (which by the way, had a bugger stuck on it and pieces of wallpaper sticking out), and on the other side it's touching another piece of furniture (see pictures), so you couldn't get to the bed unless you crawled from the opposite side. I'll let the pictures do the rest of the talking.
