Hotel Restaurant Zum Schwarzen Bären

We did a bike trip from Passau to Vienna and this was the favorite of all our hotel stays! The staff were friendly and welcoming. The rooms were spacious and clean, the building was well maintained. Breakfast was impeccable and very vegetarian friendly. And saving the best for last, the SPA and pool area were incredibly relaxing, quiet, and clean. There were thoughtful touches throughout. It was the perfect balance of feeling like a cozy home stay while also having fantastic amenities. We would highly recommend a stay here!

A bit of home cooking in Austria. The hotel was very cute, but the food was the highlight. Best breaded veal I’ve ever had.

Rooms are immense. Ours was like a small apartment. Breakfast was hands down the best I’ve had in 15+ days of staying at at hotels and guesthouses along the Danube. Whoever puts together the breakfast spread puts a lot of thought into the variety of guests who may be there. They even have an omelette station. It was a little more money but worth it. We ate lunch and dinner at the restaurant. Both delicious. Recommend sitting outside if possible as inside is a little dusty. Overall excellent place to dine and stay.
