Great family hotel directly on the Rhein river :)It was the perfect location for a stopover on a Rhein trip. We were travelling with our bikes and from the beginning were welcomed in the nicest way. Super friendly and ready to help staff. If you are also travelling with your bikes, there is a room to store bikes or possibility to charge E-Bikes. Our room was facing the river side, which only costs a bit more and is completely worth it. Beautiful view just as soon as you wake up. Very comfortable bed, the best we had in the whole trip and a classic deco room than only needs to be seen as classic and elegant style :) The breakfast was rich and with a great variety and everything we tasted, including the scrabled eggs, was delicious. We would highly reccommend this hotel, it was a true pleasure to sleep here.
Very nice place to stay run by a friendly family. Beds were very comfortable with Smart TV and fast internet. Also the breakfast was quite remarkable with good coffee, fantastic selection of fresh fruit (mango, cherries, pineapple etc.) and Indian style omelette.
We came here in November when most of St Goar’s hotels, restaurants and amenities are closed. Nevertheless, Hotel Rheinfels was opened and I booked one of the river view rooms. The view is exceptional. You can watch the ferry crossing from the room and look across to St Goarshausen. Despite the age of the establishment, the rooms are kept very clean. The carpet though, has seen many years of usage and the furnishings are brassy 1990s fixtures. We were just glad the cleanliness was top-notch. Heating is good, and so is the shower pressure. Breakfast is very very minimal - some fruits, bread, cheese, cold cuts, and on weekends, some scrambled eggs. Service was also minimal and nonchalant. The owner/manager didn’t want to interact with us much, and simply provided a “fast in-fast out” service. Wasn’t expecting much - I know it’s low season but some warmth or hospitality would be nice.
