Hotel Riu Palace Tenerife

Fantastic hotel, staff are all very nice and friendly. The hotel is spotlessly clean. The food was amazing. Lovely pool and sunbathing area, and you can walk straight on to the beach.

I found the hotel excellent. Very relaxing room was lovely. All staff very friendly. Top marks to everyone at the hotel. Will be definitely going back.

So, let’s start with the room. When we arrived at the hotel, they told both of our families that we had received a free upgrade—which was clearly not true. The room was far from upgraded. To get to it, we had to drag our luggage down a tiled hallway, which echoed like crazy and probably woke up every guest along the corridor. Definitely something that needs fixing. The main door was really old and had gaps all around it, so with the wind in Tenerife, sand and dust just blew right into the room. When we first walked in, the room was dirty—not just a little dusty, but actually dirty. They did come to clean it the next day, but that should’ve been done before we checked in. The shower was leaking and didn’t drain properly, but at least that’s fixable if you report it. The worst part? The room was on floor 5, right under the theatre. Every morning at 7:30 and again at night around 11 or midnight, the staff started dragging chairs and sofas around for like 30–40 minutes. It was super loud and really annoying—especially when you're trying to sleep. In a hotel that charges €300 a night, you'd expect way more care. Just lift the chairs, please! The buffet was okay—not amazing, but not terrible either. The pasta, though, was waaay overcooked. I know this might sound picky, but for that price, you expect better.
