Very enjoyable time staying at Hotel Riva Art & Spa. Staff went out of their way to make our stay as welcoming and as comfortable as possible, which was lovely. Rooms are basic, but overall, our stay was great. Some points for further development would be: - Make sure the full-length mirror is fully accessible. Ours was on the inside of the wardrobe door, which didn't open fully due to the bedside table. - Add a shower screen instead of a curtain. More hygienic and won't get all the floor wet while using the shower. - Add some instructions in the room for using the phone, heating/cooling etc. It was all fine for us, but may not be for others. - Lengthen the black out curtains in the 'mountain view' rooms. Ours barely covered the length of the window (from top to bottom), and it was quite bright at night with the street lamps. I would certainly recommend. We had an enjoyable stay.

I usually don’t leave reviews, but I felt it was important to share my experience here. First, we were put in an accessible room without any prior notice. The room itself had a few issues — the shower floor leaked into the bathroom, the light switch cover was exposed, and the room just wasn’t cooling down at all. We asked to switch rooms, and they were kind enough to move us, but the new room still had a half-panel shower wall, and the shower tub was super slippery and unsafe. The towel warmer also didn’t work. Breakfast was another letdown. At €15 per person, I expected a lot more. The yogurt and meats were served at room temperature, which was pretty off-putting. There were also flies and gnats around the dining area, which didn’t help the experience. We also went up to the rooftop terrace to enjoy a snack, and out of nowhere, a maid came up and spoke to us in the rudest tone, saying food and drinks weren’t allowed. There weren’t any signs indicating that, so it was a bit shocking. Location-wise, it wasn’t great either. It’s about a 15-20 minute walk to any decent spots, which isn’t ideal. Plus, there were no snacks available in the lobby, so if you get hungry, you’ll have to walk to find something nearby. The traffic is really loud in the morning and at night on both sides of the building, so expect to be woken up. All in all, I’m not sure I’d stay here again especially for a four star hotel. There are definitely better options around.

After three positive stays at Hotel Riva, our fourth visit was a major disappointment – and it will be our last. A serious incident involving a staff member was handled in an unacceptable manner by the hotel management. The employee clearly misunderstood us – a result of cultural and language barriers that should have been managed professionally by trained personnel. Instead of attempting to clarify the situation or objectively assess the incident, the entire team, including the General Manager, immediately took the side of the employee. This behavior was neither customer-oriented nor solution-focused. There was no effort made to hear our perspective. Such a disrespectful and biased approach to dealing with guests is entirely unacceptable. Never have we experienced such poor treatment. A real shame.
