Absolutely loved it. If you want to visit Venice then this hotel is a great base. Not many English speaking people around, there's a few but it's how we like it. Venice is just 1 bus ride away, say 30minutes, a return bus ticket that's purchased in the newsagents is about €6.50 i think and the bus stop is less then 100mtrs. The hotel has very friendly staff and our room was at the front and we overlooked the canal, excellent 😎
A week ago we accommodated at room 107. The moment we entered the door, the smell of the humidity and the bad ventilation was awfull. We were not able to sleep at all. There were no shampoo and enough toilet paper. The breakfast was horrible. There was not variety, only a few jams and bread, not enough for all of the visitors. There were only 4-5 tables and we were standing up so as to eat. It was the worst hotel I have ever been (and I have traveled a lot in my life!).
Visited this place last month. After having pleasent stays at Rome and Florence, we decided to stay at this hotel for our Venice leg of the trip. However we had a really pathetic experience: Location : Pathetic Reaching the hotel was a task as it was very far from the train station. It cost us over €100 for taxi to reach this place which is quite isolated from the grand canal. And again there is 30 minutes drive to reach the Grand Canal( for sight seeing and Gondola rides ). Staff : 1 person per shift When we arrived there was only person to attend us at the reception. There were no bell boys and we had to lift heavy luggage upstairs to our rooms through stairs. The same person would also serve us if we needed anything from the bar. Service: Needs serious improvement We weren't provided cutlery or extra towels on request. There was no kettle in the room to make tea. The staff needs to be a little more corteous to the guests. We found the guy in the morning shift rude. Breakfast : Insufficient The breakfast was very limited and not wholesome. Very basic as compared to amount charged. Also you aren't allowed to eat anything in the room. Interior : Good This was the only good part about the hotel. Over all it is only suitable for large groups if you have your own bus otherwise you'll have to put in both effort and money in traveling to the Grand Canal. So a big no for couples or if you're travelling in a small group.
