What a fantastic hotel this is. There’s a champagne bar where you can get any drink you like. Not to mention the exquisite La Stube restaurant on floor -1. Fresh, beautiful rooms. A 4-star hotel with 5-star staff.
Overall the hotel is great, it has a spa, bar, ski room, restaurant, etc. . The staff at the restaurant is very friendly but most of them struggle to speak english. The manager of the restaurant is very rude to non-adult people/minors and people that dont buy the most expensive champagne and food. He ignored us, and didnt even give us the menus when we asked, but served the other people next to us that were ordering the most expensive things on the menu. The location is great, you could theoretically walk to the closest gondola but they have a private shuttle ready for you, so it wouldnt make sense to walk. The amenities and food are great, but the menu isnt too big, but rather short and lacking a lot of things that you would want to eat in italy (pizza, pasta carbonara/pesto, etc.). The hotel in general is great, but it lacks things in some parts. One thing that I want to say is that one server named Claudia was very nice to us, even though we were minors. She made conversation with us and complimented us on our english. You will be lucky to have her serve you!
Do not recommend this hotel. It has a potential to be a good one but unfortunately it is not. We have been accommodated to so called new rooms - they are really poor. Very badly finished, in our room a deposit box wasn’t attached and connected, some fixtures were missing in the bathroom. Windows are like 50 years old - and so the sound proofing was not existing. We were woken up regularly by the delivery or garbage collector trucks around 3-4 am - this is exactly what you need during your ski holidays. Also temperature regulation leaves a lot of room for improvement - it is generally to hot in the room. Once the door handle from the entrance door fell off (in the room next door same issue). WiFi is poor or not working. The cleaning guy that was responsible for our room was super nice and did his job well. Food was ok but the service was not - most of the waiting staff seemed lost and disorganized. Especially during breakfast they were late with serving hot drinks or eggs. In the ski room there was no sufficient number of ski boots heaters and racks for skis. Also shuttle bus was problematic- for 3 days the bus was broken and they used old pick up truck to carry guests in and out of the hotel. Last but not least I was charged in my stay bill for the things we didn’t get our friends had the same issue. When I told it to the person at the reception that it is hotels duty to be diligent he almost started to yell at me that it wasn’t him that make a mistake because he wasn’t working the day before - amazing. This is exactly what you expect from the 4* hotel. Never again. You can find a number of hotels in MdC for the same money with much better value for money.
