Hotel Royal Paestum

The hotel was quite nice. However, the rooms were very dirty! The breakfast was very delicious but the service was very slow e.g when the bread was empty you had to wait quite a long time to get new one. Furthermore, the dishes weren’t picked up after eating. When you book you think you will get a room within the hotel. When I arrived they told me the hotel was overbooked and I should’ve went to the other facility which was a few meters away. When I said I would like to stay in the hotel they made it possible but I had to pay extra. Overall it is a beautiful hotel but the service is not as good as expected regarding the money you pay per night. Hence I wouldn’t recommend booking this hotel.

BE WARNED: this is NOT a 4 star hotel. It is a weddings venue in a run-down area. If you are unlucky enough to check in when they have a wedding on you will be dumped in a crummy extension out back overlooking the junkyard where they store garbage etc. (As shown in the photos). The staff are a mix of friendly and just plain rude. You are not allowed to use the swimming pool when they have a wedding on and the restaurant is often closed so you have to walk the streets looking for somewhere to eat. Our room was quite dirty in places. A really bad experience. This place desperately needs new management.

They put you in a separate house without pool, without service which has at least 2 stars. But you need to pay 4 star prices for sure.
