Hotel Royalmar

I’m not sure why there are so many negative reviews, I thought this hotel was wonderful! The staff is very friendly, kind, and helpful. The rooms were spacious and nice. We had a beautiful view of the ocean. It’s also in a great location if you’re wanting to visit multiple places on the French Riviera. We did not try the restaurant so I’m not sure about the food or service there but there are many others within walking distance.

Nice hotel, bed super comfy, quiet and room/ bathroom good size. Had a safe and small fridge and was left bottled water daily. Downside probably spend a bit more time on cleaning and checking stuff, not broken in the rooms. Had a bath and shower, but no plug and found bath to be quite slippy when standing.

Maybe on a regular day with a regular rate of EUR 130-150 would be fair for this hotel. The F1-Weekend easily doubled rates for this hotel. So all the worse to call this a 4-Star hotel. Missing towels on arrival, no soap. Electric sockets and lamps that don’t work. No water pressure in the shower. A shower that leaks water to the floor. A family room that fits a double and a single bed, but no more space to move. A seemingly improvised breakfast buffet at the bar… all things that would be sort of acceptable in a family hotel, a 2- or 3-star hotel - but not in a 4-star hotel. Oh, the service personnel were kind and nice though!
