Hotel Royer Urbana Champaign Tapestry Collection by Hilton

I was so looking forward to this stay because I have such fond memories of the old Jumer’s hotel. The new owners did such a fantastic job of updating this old architectural beauty, but keeping a lot of of that old medieval flare that you might remember. Dinner was delicious and I felt like I was eating at a five-star hotel! The drink menu is deliciously curated. The rooms were modern and very comfortable! My wife and I had a very special time celebrating my birthday, thank you!

We stopped in for a nightcap because we were eager to see the finally completed project. The drinks were decent enough and the decor was cute. The lighting should be toned down to maintain the historic ambiance. The bright white was not suitable for a relaxing drink at the bar. They could also pipe in some soft music to really set the tone. Some cool current hits in the style of the 1920s - 1950s would be super cool.

Beautiful and historic hotel. Visited Champaign with my wife and son for a wedding. Room was clean, AC worked well. Breakfast at the Writing Room was amazing. Unfortunately, the room we had, has a sliding door for the bathroom with noticeable gaps. This made things uncomfortable. We ended up using other bathrooms in the building for more privacy. Also, pool is nice, but not heated. Went for a swim in the morning and it was ice cold. Otherwise a great hotel with good amenities and friendly staff.
