We were looking for a stop off before catching ferry from Santander and found this charming little Hostal Rural. Website photos looked good, so booked it. It is in a quiet town with a river, a castle, train links, several bars and a restaurant. The hotel is as charming as the pictures looked but the revelation was the staff who were so good and helpful. They get someone doing what we did every day and Bea speaks good english having worked in London in the past. We ate dinner and breakfast and both were good and there is an honesty bar on the rear patio which is VERY well stocked and not expensive. Just 1.5 hours from the port of Santander this place is perfect and easy off and on for the autovia.
A charming dog friendly hotel in a small village conveniently close to the motorway. A perfect stopover on route from the south up to Santander as only approx two and a half hours away. Great restaurant opposite the hotel. Should you be travelling on a day the restaurant is closed a tasty meal can be provided by the owner. Breakfast is varied, and good value. We regularly stay here and highly recommend you stay there too.
Perfect location when driving to catch ferry to Uk from southern Spain. Greating and service were excellent. Rooms (have stayed twice) are clean and comfortable, but bathrooms are in need of refurbishment. Hotel is very dog friendly, has a superb restaurant opposite and amazingly good value for money. Parking is easy outside the door and free.
